New Car
The time has come to put the my 1998 Ford Escort ZX2 Sport to rest. It was wanting repairs that were about as much as the car was worth…a grand total of $500! So, Andrew and I had already been in the process of talking about getting a new car in the spring…that wasn’t to be. We kept going back and forth on different brands; VW, Nissan, Honda, etc and kept landing on the Nissan Altima.
There were three things I wanted in a new car…dual air…a horn (I’ve been long enough dodging traffic without one)…and blue. Other than that I was okay with what Andrew wanted…V6. Now we had to decide on new or used. Well, it is Labor Day weekend…Year end sales on all cars; so the new 2010s were not that much more expensive as 2009s used because the 2011 are about to come out. So we thought, “Why not a 2010? We are going to keep it for a long time.”
The next step was how loaded we wanted it and was the V6 worth the difference of a V4. A totally loaded 2010 V4 was the same as the 2010 V6 with options but not quite as loaded. The totally loaded had options that we DIDN’T have to have, like satellite radio (you have to pay for that), leather seats (to hot/cold depending on time of year), GPS (we have one)…I could go on.
So we decided on the 2010 Nissan Altima 3.5SR. It has the dual air (Yeah for no more freezing in the car in June!), it has a horn (Now I can let people know they are being stupid around me!) but its not blue, its Dark Slate…which is cool. I can live with that. It also has a sunroof…a plus and a ton of space. There are also other things, so much that I’m not going to type them all out.
Now time for the fun of learning to drive a bigger car.
glad to hear you are happy with the new car. can’t wait to see it next weekend.
